On this tour you will see the most important highlights of the Island of Corfu.
We start our tour by bus in Messonghi/Moraitika heading towards the North and our first stop will be at one of the most famous landmarks of Corfu the “Achilleon Palace”, the castle of Queen Sissi. The tour guide will lead you through the interior of the palace and will tell you all about its history, Sissi’s life and her love for the island of Corfu. The palace is situated in the mountains of Gastouri village with a fantastic view to the Greek Mainland. In the beautiful garden with all its different flowers and trees, you will see the stunning statue of the dying Achilles, who was Sissi’s biggest idol. The entrance fee for the Palace is included in the price and we stay here for about 1 hour.
After visiting the palace we drive to the peninsula of “Kanoni”. Here we make a short stop (15 minutes) to enjoy the most spectacular view of “Mouse Island” and “Vlacherna Monastery”, which are right next to the runway. This is probably the most photographed place on the Island of Corfu.
Leaving “Kanoni”, we head to the center of Corfu town, where we stop right next to the Old Fortress and the big square of “Esplanada”. The tour guide will walk you to the main attractions and after you have enough time for yourself (2 hrs) to explore Corfu town with its beautiful little streets and shops.
At 14.00 hrs we meet again at the bus to go back to Messonghi/Moraitika.
